Message from the President – Shane Rossen

Welcome to players and parents 2017, for what seems to be shaping up to be our biggest year yet.

Hi my name is Shane Rossen and I’m the newly appointed club president, I would just like to say that 2016 was very rewarding for our club with 4 out of 5 teams playing finals and our year 9s delivering our first premiership flag, I would also like to mention that 2017 is looking very exiting with the possibility of registering our first ever youth girls team.  We as a club pride ourselves on quality head coach and assistant coach selections and we have been lucky enough to have secured the services of WAFL Swan Districts vice captain and senior player Tony Notte as our year 10 coach . We are also looking at introducing player warm up shirts for each team in 2017, as seen worn by AFL players,  these will be warn by the players just before each and every game, but to help make this happen the club is seeking individual team sponsors so please forward your interest to Dean Trew limelight@westnet.com.au

With a strong committee at hand we will endeavour to grow our great club to its limits in up and coming years. Thank you to all past and current players that have given there service and I invite all new up and coming players and families to join in on our expanding club and continue the sea of orange, white and grey.

I look forward to catching up with everybody in the coming weeks and meeting our new players and families.

Registrations are now open online and keep checking our website for up and coming information.

Finals series

Congratulations to all the teams for a great year of footy.

A special congratulations to the year 9 team who after a come from behind victory today will play in the grand final next Sunday. In what was described as a ripper game played in a fantastic spirit the Rangers defeated Mazzenod 7.13.55 to 7.6.48.

The year 9 grand final – Ellenbrook vs Hills Rangers will be played next Sunday 11 September at 10:20am at Steel Blue oval. It would be great to get as many supporters and players in their club colors come down and support the boys.

Results during the final series are as follows:

Year 7 after finishing second on the ladder and winning the qualifying final, the 7s were defeated by Bassendean who advance to the GF against Upper Swan black.

Year 8 Blue division. Hills Rangers White had a tough year and were unable to make the finals series. We look forward to them returning bigger and better in 2017. The GF will be played between Bassendean and Ballajurra.

Year 8 Red division. Hills Rangers Orange finished the season 4th on the ladder. After winning the first elimination final against South Perth, they were defeated by Ellenbrook in the semi final. The GF will be played between Noranda Gold and Mt Lawley.

Year 10 Barry Cable Division. Hills Rangers advanced to the preliminary final after defeating Coolbinia but went down to Caversham. The GF will be played between Manning and Caversham.

Congratulations again to all the teams for a great season of footy. Good luck to Ben and his year 9s in the GF on Sunday.

And we will see you all at the windup on Sunday 18 September 2016.
